House Rules for Member Teachers

These rules exist to keep our space a clean, professional, and harmonious one. If you have concerns about any of these rules, please contact me (Kathleen!) so that we can discuss and resolve. Anytime a member has an issue with a House Rule, we’ll find a resolution that is based on the consensus of all members -- though I (Kathleen) do reserve the right to hold fast to any rule that I need to maintain to stay in compliance with the lease and local laws and ordinances.

There's also certification and liability and other legalese that you'll have to review at some point. Fun times!

Them's the Rules

Health and safety

All Members will operate following all local health and safety laws and regulations and will:

  • Maintain CPR and AED certification

  • Alert Kathleen immediately of any malfunctions of the equipment or props, or of any disruptions in the Premises or concerns about health and safety

Equipment and space maintenance

To provide a consistent experience for all other Members, any room used by you will be returned to its default state when you leave the room:

  • Lights, fans, and air purifiers off

  • Thermostat returned to its original setting

  • All non-fabric equipment and props wiped down using the provided cleaning supplies after each use

  • All equipment or props returned to their designated locations after use

  • All personal items and supplies removed, unless a prior arrangement has been made

  • Pilates Reformers in their original setup (Reformer setup, carriage springs off, footbar down, all Tower springs returned to their original machines if moved)

  • Kitchenette and bathrooms checked for any misadventure

  • Security system set if no one else is present

Conduct and coexistence

You agree to the Code of Ethics (coming soon) and to the following rules that are designed to support harmonious coworking among all members:

Shared space: We are operating in a shared space with other colleagues, and we are occupying a building that hosts two other businesses (downstairs). As such, we all agree to:

  • Conduct ourselves in a professional and respectful manner and to be courteous with all individuals we encounter, both in the building and in the areas around the building, including sidewalks and parking lots.

  • Stick to our start and end times: Especially if another Member is coming in shortly after you, you are obliged to get your people out and the room reset before that Member’s start time.

    • Please book at least 30 minutes before or after every group class in the yoga group room and 15 minutes before or after every Pilates session; you’re welcome to book more if you want so that you and your clients don’t feel rushed coming in or leaving.

  • Refrain from any activity on or around the Premises that creates excessive traffic or noise or that infringes upon another Member’s co-working experience or a neighboring business’s normal operations.

  • Refrain from using permanent signage or any signage or notices that must be affixed to the walls or doors of the Premises without getting express written consent first.

Client misadventure: We can’t control the actions of others. That said, any client who behaves in an abusive or destructive manner toward any person in or around the Premises and its neighboring businesses will be asked to leave the Premises and not return. In such an instance, the Provider will have no liability to the Member or the offending client.

Client management: The Member acknowledges that there is no phone number for Raleigh Unrushed that folks can call if they are lost, running late, etc. The Member agrees to make sure everyone registered for classes or sessions has the Member’s phone number or another mode of contact. If the Member must cancel a scheduled class or session, they are responsible for contacting their clients.

Additional Rules

Raleigh Unrushed reserves the right to make other reasonable rules from time to time to promote and maintain a good co-working environment. Any addition to the rules will be explicitly communicated to and agreed to by all members. All members have the right to question or dispute any new rule that may impede their current business practices. In cases of dispute, Kathleen will make a decision based on consensus from all other members.
