Membership Fees, Room Rates, and Payment Terms

Practitioners who choose to be members will pay a monthly membership fee that’s based on which rooms they use and how many hours they book per week. Below you'll find the super-specifics of it all laid out for you.

The following language is what's in the current draft of the coworking agreement (fair warning, legalese ahead!) -- this is for folks who want all the very specifics immediately and right away. It's also totally OK to wait until we get to agreement-signing time to go through this stuff. If you do plunge ahead, please note that the language on this page may not reflect up-to-the-minute updates in the coworking agreement.

Not a member teacher?

The rates below are for members only – if you intend to use fewer than 1.5 hours per week, you can book your time on an as-needed basis. There are separate rates for occasional use by non-members.

Find those room rates.

Membership Fee: As a member, you’ll agree to pay the following monthly as your Membership Fee:

·      The base membership fee, which is calculated based on your usage of the Premises (rates below)

·      Optional: A contribution for the parking fund (described below)

·      Optional: Any other amounts for any additional services provided. These would be services that you request that are not covered under your membership, such as specialty laundry services, extra website or marketing services, or other support. We’d agree upon service terms and costs beforehand—there will be no hidden fees or surprise charges, ever.

Any additional fees for occasional use of the Premises beyond the terms in your Agreement, such as booking extra time for workshops or other special events, will be charged at the rates below and paid at the time of booking (separately from the Membership Fee).

Rates as of September 2025

You can book any combination of hours in any rooms you need. You can rent in as few as 15-minute increments. Please book at least 30 minutes before or after every session in the Yoga Group room and at least 15 minutes before or after sessions in any other room. You’re welcome to book more than that if you like, so that you and your clients don’t feel rushed coming in or leaving. We’re unrushed, after all!

How your base membership fee is calculated

Your monthly fee is calculated using each room’s hourly rate. The math goes like this:

·      Hours/week (each room) x hourly rate (each room) = weekly cost

·      Monthly fee = weekly cost x 52 weeks, divided by 12 months

If you choose a six-month agreement instead of a full year, you pay the monthly fee plus 12%.

Parking fund

TBD – I’m going to negotiate relationships with the parking lots that are across the street (to our south and east) so that we can secure some free lot parking for our clients. Depending on how much that costs, I may establish a parking fund that you can contribute to to guarantee that your clients have free parking right in front of the building.

Participation in the parking fund is totally optional.

Keep in mind that there’s also a good bit of street parking that is currently free (no meters) in the blocks around the building, and there’s a nearby parking deck that is free for the first two hours. I’ll provide a map that you can share with your clients. Some clients have no problem (or, at least, minimal complaints) with street parking, while others place a high priority on easy, nearby parking.

Payment schedule

Initial payment: When you sign your coworking agreement, you’ll pay the first month’s Membership Fee and a Security Deposit in that same amount. The Security Deposit may be applied at Provider’s choice during the Term of the Agreement to any sums owed at any time by Member to Provider, the final month’s rent, unless it’s used to cover any unpaid fees at the time of your membership termination or any costs incurred by Raleigh Unrushed due to damage you’ve caused to the Premises or equipment. As set forth in the Coworking Agreement in the event that the Security Deposit is so applied by Provider prior to the expiration or termination of the then-current Term, Provider agrees to pay to Provider another Security Deposit in the amount requested by Provider within 48 hours of Member’s receipt of such request.

Membership Fee: Your total Membership Fee will be due on the same day of each month. Any payments received more than five days after your due date will be considered late payments.

Additional fees for extra use of space will be paid at the time of booking. There are no refunds for payments made for extra use of the Premises, though in some cases of event cancellation due to weather or force majeure, a credit may be given for future use of the space.

Other payment terms

Payment method: Payments may be made via Venmo, Zelle, credit card, or ACH (bank account) transfer. Payments made by credit card will incur a 2.9% fee (3.4% for American Express). ACH payments will incur a 1% fee. Any other forms of payment not specified here must be agreed upon in advance and may incur a processing fee; no payment processing fee will exceed 5%.

Late payment: If you haven’t paid the full Membership Fee within five days of your due date, a late fee of 10% of the amount owed will be charged. If you fail to pay an overdue balance in full before your next due date, services may be withheld, including denying you access to the Premises and any personal items therein, until the full balance is paid.

Note: Running a small business is challenging; if you’re struggling with your monthly payments, please contact me sooner than later, so that we can discuss payment options that may help you avoid late fees and other penalties.

Refunds: There are no refunds of any fees paid by you. In the event that your business is interrupted due to the Premises being rendered unusable, a credit may be issued for the time lost. No credits or refunds will be issued in the event of interruptions in electric utility service during daylight hours or interruptions in Internet service.
